I love:

  • are documentatie foarte misto
  • are o comunitate mare in spate
  • portage
  • performanta (totul e compilat din surse, local, pentru arhitectura fiecaruia)

I hate:

  • timp de instalare pentru pachete mari (mda, totul e compilat din surse)
  • daca nu citesti toate newsletterele te trezesti ca tocmai s-au schimbat caile de configurare pt apache sau ca iti trimite automat php5 (bad thing) si ca nu mai poti actualiza nu stiu ce pachet.
  • mentinerea la zi a fisierelor de configurare odata cu upgrade-urile (mai usor de cand am descoperit dispatch-conf).

Recent am patit-o cu php-ul, dar din fericire a mers usor. Oricum, tot raul spre bine, acum pot fi gestionate mult mai usor php4 si php5 in paralel, pe acelasi server.
